About Us

"Creative, whimsical, knowledgeable, a passion for perfection" are all phrases that have been used to describe Chef Marla Cohen.  A graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of American in Hyde Park, New York, Marla has 28+ years experience in the food industry. Her culinary experiences range from owner of an artesian bakery and catering business, vocational college culinary instructor to a corporate Executive Pastry Chef and also an Executive Chef in the private club industry . Her knack for public speaking, zany sense of humor, vast culinary knowledge and well developed palette have made Marla a "must " at many culinary venues.  Now with the collaberation of Lyn Cloninger she has co-created "PHOOD for Thought" an upscale, fine dining catering group.  Lyn has 18+ years in the business including 8 years as the General Manager for a fine dining city club.  Their "eye" for creating (plate presentation) unique menus, visual masterpieces and capturing the essence of an event has sparked a following, raised eyebrows, stirred excitement and garnered much interest in the LA area.
